Whether you are discovering your voice for the first time or looking to deepen an established vocal practice, lessons are shaped around you as an individual singer. I work with students to develop healthy, sustainable vocal technique alongside musicianship, confidence, and a greater understanding of their own unique instrument.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where singers feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, making mistakes, and discovering what their voices can do.
I believe that learning to sing is about more than producing a beautiful sound. It is also about learning to understand, accept, and trust your own voice.
Every singer brings a different instrument, musical background, set of goals, and way of learning into the studio. Rather than approaching every student with the same formula, I adapt lessons to the individual singer while building strong foundations in vocal technique and musicianship.
Lessons may incorporate vocal exercises, repertoire study, music reading and theory, ear training, interpretation, and performance skills according to each student's needs. Above all, I want students to leave lessons with practical tools they can use independently and an increasing sense of confidence in their own musicianship.
I welcome singers at a variety of ages (starting at seven years old) and stages, from those taking their first voice lessons to experienced singers looking to continue developing their technique and artistry.
My own training is rooted in classical voice, and I particularly enjoy working with singers interested in classical repertoire and advanced musicianship. I also work with students singing musical theatre and contemporary repertoire, particularly at the beginner and intermediate levels.
For younger students, lessons incorporate age-appropriate vocal development with musicianship, musical exploration, and repertoire that keeps singing engaging and enjoyable.
Depending on your goals and experience, lessons can include:
Healthy and sustainable vocal technique
Breath coordination and body awareness
Resonance, range, and vocal flexibility
Musicianship, sight-singing, and ear training
Classical, musical theatre, and contemporary repertoire
Interpretation and musical expression
Performance and audition preparation
Building confidence and independence as a singer
